Local photographic artists’ work ‘Exposed’

What makes an art show worth visiting, in my opinion, is just the right amount of artistic exposure.

When works are underexposed, it’s hard for appreciation to be realized; when they are overexposed, the saturation point leads to the art being viewed as commonplace; whereas being simply exposed, creates the coveted attention-grabbing reaction.

It is therefore fitting that select, exceptional Fallbrook photographic artists will be featured in the upcoming “Exposed” art show from Nov. 3 through Dec. 1 at Pinnell Gallery, 124 N. Main Ave, in Fallbrook.

The photographers are all either artists or professional or retired vocational photographers.

“Some are internationally recognized and published regularly,” organizers said.

Participating photographic artists are Ken Seals, Mike Reardon, Fred Young, J. Grant Brittain, Robert Sommers, Thomas Salerwein, Louis Nidorf, Michael Cartwright, Tom Shearer, Brett Stokes, Jon Harwood, and Kip Peterson.

The third exhibition of work by these photographers will begin with an opening reception on Nov. 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Organizers explained that the theme “Exposed” was aptly titled “as it is a departure this year in that there is no theme and each photographer is curating their work they consider their best.”
